Meet the Team

Dr. Darlene Townes, PsyD

Clinical Psychologist, Founder
Dr. Darlene R Townes is the CEO/Chief Psychologist of The Fountain and a licensed clinical psychologist. She serves adults, couples, and families experiencing mood, anxiety and trauma (i.e., PTSD, racial, sexual, etc.) disorders, using a toolbox of therapies focused on using your personal strengths and collaboration with the goal of empowerment.

Dr. Townes earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chapman University, and Master and Doctorate degrees from John F. Kennedy University. Her dissertation title, “Is the God-Image of Christian Women Impacted During the Decision-Making Process to Divorce?”

Mayra Pacheco, M.A.

Psychological Associate
Mayra Pacheco is a fourth-year doctoral student pursuing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at The Wright Institute, a graduate school in Berkeley, California, known for its emphasis on social justice-oriented training. She earned her M.A. in Psychology there after completing her B.A. in Psychology at Stanford University. Mayra has provided therapy to individuals, groups, and families in English and Spanish. Her clinical interests include psychosomatic concerns, anxiety, trauma, psychotic presentations, multicultural issues, acculturation, financial anxiety, and men and masculinity. Using an integrative approach, she's learning to blend cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic relational frameworks to help individuals recognize personal and systemic patterns that are influencing their well-being. Mayra recently relocated to be closer to her extended family and build professional connections.

Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys planning neighborhood bike rides, powerlifting, scuba diving, and raising her curious three-year-old while embracing both German and Mexican culture.
